Five Guys is a chain restaurant that specializes in making great tasting burgers and is commonly known for having large sacks full of free peanuts for its customers to dig into. Five Guys has locations all across the United States, other counties, and several in Kansas City. Five Guys is always considered as one of the top chain burger restaurants in America and it’s easy to see why. Unlike most chain burger restaurants, Five Guys is known for and boast about their always fresh cut, never frozen beef patties. They are also very picky about their fries, which are only made from potatoes in Idaho that are grown north of the 42nd parallel because that area produces denser, higher quality spuds. Other than the fact that Five Guys makes very high quality food, it is also a very good place to stop by for lunch and a savory burger.
I decided to stop by the Five Guys location in the Ward Parkway Shopping Center of State Line and see if the hype was for real. The first things I noticed was that the restaurant was very clean, and the mound of sacks filled with peanuts that are available for the customers to use. The Five Guys menu is created so you can pick the size of your burger and put on it whatever you want. I decided to order a bacon cheeseburger topped with lettuce, pickles, and grilled onions, along with their famous fries and a cookies and cream milkshake. After a short wait, I hear my order number called and I go retrieve my burger. After unwrapping it, I am amazed by how perfectly the cheese is melted and all the toppings are stacked onto the burger. Overall, the burger was very good, perfectly cooked, perfect amount of toppings, and not to greasy. I would recommend Five Guys to anyone that is looking for a quick non-expensive quality burger to have for lunch with the family or friends.
